Corset with blue flossing

The presented corset is typical of the second half of the 1870’s and 1880’s. There were many sewing patterns of these types of corsets in the magazines of that period.

The corset is made of two layers of a cotton fabric. It has got two fasteners, a busk at the front and lacing at the back. There is also boning of steel.

The corset is decorated by a lace hem in the top part and a blue flossing on the tunnels of spiral bones, which reinforces the fabric in those crucial places.

The set with the corset consists also of a shirt with a bustle.
